Welcome! My name is Tara Laidlaw, and I'm an instructor, curriculum designer, and program manager working at the intersection of formal and informal education.
With over ten years of experience in standards-aligned, place-based education in California, Minnesota, and Massachusetts, I have worked with students of all ages, from a wide range of demographics, and with diverse abilities.
I also work with both formal and informal educators to help them develop skills as science teachers using inquiry as a fundamental practice.
While my specialization is farm- and garden-based education, I'm equally at home working in other contexts such as wilderness preserves, historic estates, the high Sierra, and more.
This portfolio is part of my ongoing professional development as I explore new avenues for developing and delivering high-quality, high-impact education programs.
